Karlstejn Castle is undoubtedly one of the most important and beautiful Czech castles.
It is not an accident that Karlstejn Castle is often chosen as a popular background for czech fairy-tales movies.

It was founded by the famous Czech king Charles IV. as a place for safekeeping of the crown jewels of the Roman Empire. Very impressive is the step-like order of the building depicting symbolically the importance of each castle buildings. In the breath-taking Holy Cross Chapel in the highest Large Tower, the crown jewels were safely kept.

On this half day tour you will have a chance to admire the beauty of the Castle´s surroundings as the car/bus will take you through the Bohemian Karst Protected Landscape, known for its caves, rocky landscape, fields and diverse forests.
The castle surrounding is also very popular as a weekend track among Czech tourists. Passing local villages with a folk architecture is a lovely track.
