Czech Terezín, town in northern Bohemia, was founded by an Austrian Emperor Josef II. as a military fortress. From 1941 to 1945 it was used by Nazi Germany as a walled ghetto, or concentration camp, and as a transit camp for western Jews en route to Auschwitz and other extermination camps.
Tens of thousands of people died there, some killed outright and others dying from malnutrition and disease.
On this half-day tour you will get acquanted with the history of the Terezin town, you will be taken on the tour through the Small Fortress, Terezin town with its Holocaust Museum and finally to the Jewish cemetery.
